Tagging Information

**Tags must be able to be scanned at checkout.  Tape and safety pins may only be placed at the top of tag where it says "pin here".   PLEASE NO STRAIGHT PINS!  BLUE PAINTERS TAPE works well attaching tags to books and games.

LOGIN TO CREATE AND PRINT TAGS

IMPORTANT:  SYSTEM WILL SHUT OFF ON MONDAY, MARCH 5, AT MIDNIGHT.  AT THIS POINT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO INPUT ANY FURTHER INFORMATION INTO THE SYSTEM.  PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE ANY INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM AFTER THIS POINT EITHER.  HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PRINT TAGS.

Creating Tags

• After registering, log in to enter items.
• For each item, you will be asked for the item description, size, price, whether or not you want the item to be reduced at the 1/2 price sale, and whether or not you want the item donated if it does not sell.
• Print tags on white cardstock (67lb or 65lb).  Use the "best" print setting to ensure barcode can be read by scanner at checkout.

Clothing                                                         

• Please TRY to hang all of your items.  Hung items look better and presentation is key to selling.  If you must fold an item, it should only be $1. 
• Place clothing on hanger with hook facing left (while looking at front of item).
• Pants and skirts should be secured to hangers with safety pins if not on a pant or skirt hanger.  Paper covered wire hangers work well because the paper prevents pins from sliding.
• Be sure items are SECURE on their hangers.  Add extra pins if needed.  Items won't sell if they have fallen under the racks.
• 2-piece outfits: Pin the bottoms to the hanger and place the shirt or jacket over top.  If that doesn't work, place the top on the hanger and pin the bottoms to the back of the top.  Be sure the outfit stays together and on the hanger!   You can secure more than one hanger for an outfit together with zip ties.  Zip ties can be found at the dollar store and work wonders when securing items and shoes together!
• Some stores will give you hangers for children's clothing, and many dry cleaners will give you wire hangers.  The SaleBoat sells hangers with clothing.  We cannot return them to you.  However, at pick-up you are welcome to take any leftover hangers we may have. 
• Make sure clothing is clean, pressed and smelling fresh!

Shoes

• Shoes must be in LIKE NEW condition. 
• Connect shoes together securely - zip ties work well. If you are unable to secure shoes together, place them in a ziploc bag.
• Tag must also be secured to shoes. Attach card to zip tie, or place tag in a ziploc bag that can be attached to shoes.

Toys    

• Use clear packing tape to secure tags to toys.
• If toys have loose pieces, place the pieces in a zip-lock bag.  Attach the bag to the item as securely as possible.  We cannot be responsible for lost pieces so please attach your bag as securely as possible.
• Puzzle pieces can be secured with plastic wrap and tape.
• Items that require batteries MUST have batteries included and working.

What you may consign with The SaleBoat

Acceptable Items

• New and/or gently used clothing that is in current style and season.  (Spring and Summer clothing will be accepted at all sales.  Winter and winter holiday items will only be accepted at the fall sale.)
• Clothing sizes 0 - 14
• Maternity clothes - current style and season (Old, out of style maternity close WILL NOT SELL).
• Shoes in LIKE NEW condition
• Furniture (changing tables, rocking chairs, gliders, etc.) - Must meet current safety standards and not be on the CPSC recall list.
• Baby equipment (pack n' plays, strollers, swings, etc.) - Must meet current safety standards and not be on the CPSC recall list.
• Car seats less than 5 years old that are not on the CPSC recall list. 
  • Must not have been in an automobile accident.
  • Must include identification label with date of manufacture and model number.
  • Includes all parts (harness straps, harness clips, tether, etc.)
  • Must include instruction manual (may be copy printed from manufacturer's website).
  • Straps and buckles should not look worn or rusted.
• Toys - Must include all parts, pieces and needed batteries. 
• Only stuffed animals that are electronic and in LIKE NEW condition
• Sports equipment (baseball gloves, soccer goals, etc.)
• Bicycles without rust
• Riding toys
• Outdoor play equipment (such as Little Tykes and Step 2) - Must be CLEAN and in good condition
• Books for children and parenting books
• DVD's, and CD's for children
• Puzzles 
• Homeschool curriculums (New to 2011 sale)
• School uniforms (New to 2011 sale)
• "Mommy Table" - designer purses and accessories such as Coach, Burberry, Vera Bradley, Brighton, etc.

Items we will not accept

• Anything on the CPSC recall list.
• Cribs
• Crib Bedding (SORRY, no crib bumpers or bedding will be accepted due to recent resell standards)
• Clothing with stains, holes, missing buttons or broken zippers
• Faded, worn-out looking clothing, toys or equipment
• Out-of-date clothing
• T-shirts (unless in excellent condition)
• Underwear - unless in new, unopened package
• Toys, equipment or furniture that are broken, damaged or missing parts
• Car seats more than 5 years old
• Stuffed animals - unless electronic
• Jewelry
• Formula

Helpful Tips 

• Wash, iron, button buttons, zip zippers.  This makes a difference!
• Have clean items that have been sitting in the garage?  Check for stains!  (Some appear with time, and may not have been there when put away.)  Fluff them in the dryer with a Bounce sheet so they smell fresh.
• Group items together, they'll sell better.  (Outfits that go together; 2 shirts, same style and size, different colors)  When possible, put grouped items on the same hanger.  Put the first item on the hanger and attach the other item to the back with safety pins.
• Styles change, particularly for older children and maternity.  If it was very stylish a few years ago, it won't sell now.
• When choosing items for the sale, think gently used, not garage sale.  We don't like telling consignors that something they or their children loved is unacceptable.  So help us out, if you have doubts about something, please leave it at home! (Donate it, give it to a friend, bring it to our "donate" box, but don't go to the trouble of making a tag for it.)
• Clean, new-looking items make for happy shoppers.  Happy shoppers spend more money and buy more of YOUR items!  Help us keep our shoppers happy!
